Discovery of Magick

Life was predictable, though far from exciting, in Boring, Kansas.

I'd thought about getting a job and maybe taking some community college classes after graduation. Those were all part of the plans I'd sort of made with my best friend since elementary school. We'd even talked about sharing a crappy apartment somewhere in our little nowhere town. Then my aunt and uncle surprised me with a graduation trip and it changed everything.

No, really. EVERYTHING.

For one, we'd not only left our little town of Boring, Kansas, but the United States– no, actually, the human world– entirely. I was going to college all right, only it was one for witches to hone their skills. Boy, was I ever behind. I hadn't even known I was one. That should have made things hard enough, but I caught the attention of one of the hottest guys I'd ever seen, though I wasn't sure if he liked me or hated me. Add to that, I also got noticed by the popular girl who saw him as hers. Oh, and did I mention I somehow acquired a ghost cat as a familiar? Or that the hot guy comes as some sort of magical package deal with his two best friends?

Yeah, my life in Boring was over and interesting just might be overrated...
