When Jane loses her father to cancer, her depression and trauma from her mentally unstable mother leads her to drop out of college. Saddled with debt and no prospects for a future, it is as though life had ended.

A year later, she wakes up, packs her bags, and leaves home. Determined to reclaim her life, she sets her sights on an independent life.

A hopeless romantic, she moves to the big city of Boston from her small town of Torrington. She never would guess what awaited her there. This naïve 21-year-old college dropout is soon plunged into a world she never thought existed outside of movies and books. She will soon realize that life is not a fairy tale, and that her idealistic views on relationship and marriage are not as simple as she thought.

To offset her huge student loans, she starts working as a waitress at Whiskey Peak, a busy bar in the downtown area of Boston, a job she struggles to navigate as an introvert.

In her quest to find love, she meets Mark, a young medical student who seems to be everything she has ever hoped for in a man, Ray, a good-looking vampire alpha male who oozes charm, Sagat, a mysterious werewolf, and Franklin, a multi-millionaire who is ready to give her a life of pamper and luxury.

If only the paranormal was not beckoning at her destiny or the veil of her ignorance of the supernatural were not about to be lifted.

But just when she thinks she has started to get the hang of this new life in the big city, inevitable circumstances bring her face to face to her biggest fear.

Will she survive? Will she come out stronger? Will she finally accept her destiny, the magic in her veins and leave her insecurities behind?
