When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.
That was my mother's advice when she told me that I would be staying in the U.S. while the rest of my family went on a mission trip to El Salvador. She said I needed to have a "normal" high school experience for my senior year, at a private girls boarding school.
Thank God for Gram! She talked them into letting me stay with her and attend the local public school, something I had never done before. Private girls' schools were all I had been to before. The best thing, my long-term crush would be in my grade at the new school. I couldn't wait, except for one little problem.
Sean was determined to hate me, to make my life miserable, starting with his nickname for me- Stalker.
With the help of my best friend Sadie, her pumpkin farm, and a little bit of pixie dust, we made pumpkinade (that's a thing, right? We live in western NY and lemons are scarce but Pumpkins abound).
