It's been half a lifetime since I've laid eyes on my hometown. Mom is gone, I'm not speaking to Dad, and Miles...

Suffice to say, there's nothing left for me here.

Nothing, that is, besides a potentially career-making archelogical find. Even as a kid, I had an eye for unusual things. And there were some very unusual bits and bobs washing up on these beaches. I saved everything I found, sure that one day it would lead to something huge.

Well I've been back a month now, with nothing to show for my efforts but a dwindling bank account, fading hope, and far too many nights spent wallowing alone in a bar.

And of course, out of all the nights and all the bars, Miles Halloran picks one of my pity parties to slam his gorgeous ass back into my life.

Could he be the answer to all my problems? Or just another bout of the heartbreak I can't seem to outrun?
