Shattered

I marched on my fellow gods, intent on taking the throne. I would be queen and, with my consort at my side, all the universe would tremble in fear before us.

Victory was in my grasp. Then I misstepped and failed along with the remains of my army.

Condemned by the gods I had once called friends, I was forced to reincarnate as a mortal completely unaware of who I had been. Worse, the other gods broke my beloved's spirit into pieces before reincarnating him so that we would be separated forever.

Someone up there must have been looking out for me though [feels like this should be, 'i must have still had an ally up there' or something?]. My memories are intact and I still have some of my powers. I'm weaker, but I'm strong enough to find the pieces of my lover's soul.

Objective numero uno: Pretend I'm a typical mortal because the gods will be watching. That means high school, friends, family, and all those ridiculous trappings. Everyone wants me but my affections have never wavered.

Maybe I can hide from them among piles of books in the library?

Once I reunite with my soul mate, no matter how many humans they reside in, I'm going after the gods again.
