Evangeline and her guys have been rearranged into teams of two. While Vangie is happy to have Gideon’s help guarding Emma, she and Noah both feel guilty and hate seeing Gideon and Balior missing the souls they guarded from birth. At least Gideon’s sister and her husbands will be guarding Alex and Jayden rather than an unknown team.

The Vile is getting bolder with their attacks on Heaven and Earth. Soon, the team will have to leave Guardian Tower and most of their families behind to escape the enemy. Jude is meant to travel with them however and may not be cleared to fly in time. Noah works to explore his mystic abilities, concerned he will need to utilize them sooner than later.

Their human charges have a radical effect on every angel they acknowledge and have plans of their own about how to turn the tide of the war on the earthly plane while Alex seems to ignore potential danger to himself.

Vangie’s best friend might actually be alive, but a well-respected guardian she attended academy with is acting strangely, and Gideon is forced to confront someone who betrayed him in the past.

Tempers fray as the enemy steps up their attacks on earth and the team struggles to navigate through the changes and deal with ever more alarming threats to their charges’ lives.
