I had a life before I came to the Mountain, of course, but I've very carefully kept it a secret. And it worked, right up until I got kidnapped and taken to Pacific City.
Luckily, having a past there means I know people who will help me get back home. There's Felix, a gargoyle who's convinced I'm his mate, and Konstantin, a light-fingered vampire with devastating bite. I'm not nearly naive enough to think they're doing this purely out of the goodness of their hearts.
But all of that is just going to have to wait. Getting back home means walking into a war zone. As a doctor, it's my job to keep everyone else alive - even if it means making the greatest sacrifice of all.
