Across the ocean from Septoven, in the more modern country of Lorelle, Regina has a nightmare of running for her life from a battle, being chased by hunters. She falls from a cliff into the river as others cry out for her, and drowns.
Or do they cry a different name? Andrew, David, and Cornelius have searched for their lost mate, Eleanor, but they felt her dying through their bond. The werewolf, dragon shifter, and vampire are in mourning, though the alpha Andrew refused to give up searching.
They never found her remains and he doggedly continued his quest despite David and Cornelius quarreling with him and turning back. Regina encounters Andrew at a diner, and something sparks between them.
