I’d rather be memorable and fearsome than soft and pretty.

Fire has always been my badass power, but now it’s unstable.

I can’t control my fire, and I’ve never studied arcane magic. Is it possible I’m more screwed than before?

I survived the first Trial. I was pretty shocked, but I was born with that power.

Unlike arcane magic—no fire-user is adept at magic, and I’m no different. It’s not my power, but for this Trial, I’m expected to kick as much ass as the first. Where the shades do I start?

Archem and his grandmother, the Head of Arcane, are my only hope. With his tests and experiments, plus her grimoire, at least I have somewhere to start.

The Trial by Fire messed up my power. Not like the curse, but now it’s just more, and it’s hard to control. I can’t let people see that. I’m the Heiress, and image is always everything.

I have a whole new power to study, not a lot of time to do it, and a conspiracy to uncover. Someone ripped that page from my contract, knowing I would sign it. The Families might not want to see me ascend to queen, but who will try to stop me?

There’s a thousand new ways for me to fail, and still four Trials to go, now all unfamiliar. I need my guys, but I have no way to repair the damage done.
