Marriages of Make Believe

First came Ludo, then came Zephyr, next came Ero, and last but not least? Ozzie.

As a child, I married every boy I could find. I was in love with love and desperately wanted to be someone's wife. Among the boys I entered in wedded bliss with on the playground, these four stand out. Gallant Ludo with his mysterious past, playful Zephyr with his endless games, angry Ero whose jealousy drove us apart, and sweet Ozzie who only wanted me to be happy.

One day, we, unfortunately, had to grow up and my childhood loves faded into the past. I went on to graduate college and become an impressive grocery store cashier with the power to scan coupons at the speed of light. Yeah, life hasn't really worked out the way I wanted it to. My dreams of a big wedding, a beautiful dress, and a loyal husband? All gone after a car wreck left me scarred and with pain that won't go away.

Used to being ignored, I throw away a medieval-ish scroll of parchment that arrives in my mailbox one day. Sure, it says that someone loves me and he's on his way to pick me up, but whatever. We all know that's not happening.

Except that it does when a grown-up Zephyr shows up at my window with a flying pirate ship straight out of Treasure Planet. I can't believe what I'm seeing until he offers me a ring and begs me to be his; and only his. When I refuse, I'm kidnapped and dragged into a world I don't recognize... but one that certainly recognizes me.

Turns out that promises like marriage are binding and never expire in this realm. The other three men are absolutely coming after me and giving myself to any one of them means war from the others. I can't possibly condemn this place to such a fate, but I don't know if I have any other option.

Will it be war? Or is there some way to find peace and select just one of my old friends, forever?
