I finally escaped Cain’s imprisonment, only to discover my mate is gone. My brothers allowed her to venture into Hell in search of me and now she’s trapped. Sure, Jophiel knew the risks Hell poses for angels, but we all do crazy things for the ones we love.

We were created for a purpose, even if we desire more out of life. God makes his demands, and Lucifer backs him with his might. Our actions are monitored, our lives controlled, leaving us with no freedom of our own.

Without me and my mates, Earth will remain in turmoil. Without us, there will be no Earth, period, given the rate of destruction mortals seem hellbent on achieving.

I'm not asking for much. I just want to live my life my way, and according to my rules. I'll still police the mortals and ensure they don't destroy themselves any more than they already have. I may be half-demon, but I'm also half-angel, and I can't stand by and watch them ruin themselves and their planet.
