My name is Amina Ava Johnson, and I was the first and only child to be born in the Underworld. If that didn’t make me enough of an enigma, a loophole in the laws of nature graced me with five dads.

I’m a witch, a demon, a vampire, and on top of all that I’m a hunter- a warrior designed to kill everything that I am.

I’m a walking contradiction, I wasn’t supposed to exist, and that’s why there’s a coven of witches that have emerged in the land of the living who are hell bent on bringing me down.

I’ve never been topside, and every one of my parents forbids it, but when the threat hits close to home I can’t risk it anymore.

The world of the living is just as cold and unforgiving as my mother said it was years ago when she stopped the barbaric Vampire Trials.

Now the torch is passed to me.
