Twenty years ago, the Great Sickness wiped out over half of the world's population. It killed my parents, and I was at Death’s door when a grim reaper took an interest. Instead of taking my soul, he saved me. At a cost. His gift is now my burden.
I never asked for the ability to control people bearing Death’s mark, but I still pay for my life by helping Grim reap his targets. It’s tolerable until one of his assignments goes horribly wrong. I barely escaped, and with no help from him. It takes two years of healing, but I survived, thanks to my best friend. The best part? I believed Grim is out of my life for good.

When Grim shows up on my doorstep offering a way out of his debt, I reluctantly give in, only to find out he’s sent me after monsters. Four gorgeous monsters who aren’t at all what Grim claims.
They tell me evil is coming, and my power can save so many in our already screwed-up world. Grim tells me his targets are dangerous and will hurt innocents if I don’t complete his mission. Both offer a way out of the poverty that plagues Cadaver City. Trouble is, someone is lying.
