They think I'm just a pawn. They have no idea how dangerous I really am.

My entire life has been lived within the walls of my father's castle. I am both his saviour, and his biggest mistake. As the first girl born to the Torshev bloodline in a millennium, with twelve older brothers before me, I am worth far more than my weight in gold. My father intends on marrying me off to cement his place as one of three elite dragon kings.

I have other plans.

I've been trying to escape my gilt cage since I was just thirteen. Each time freedom has been a little closer, and the punishments for escape more severe. And then they came along. Three pretty distractions with a simple plan - kidnap the princess and ransom me back to my father.

Except things are never quite that easy.

There are more people than just my father who would pay handsomely for my head, attached or otherwise. And there's the little thing about my being my father's biggest mistake. It seems that I will be his downfall.

All I have to do is show my new captors that my plan will result in everyone getting what they want.
