Empiring Ruin

The world told me what I was without me being able to choose. At first, I thought I wanted the life as an Omega, cherished by her mates, but they abandoned me when my family’s class came into question. Omegas were supposed to be treasured and protected by their pack, but it was my fault for believing their falsities without receiving their mark.
Gutted to the core, I found myself completely alone, isolated in our overpopulated city. People came here to disappear or to make someone disappear because law enforcement didn’t stand a chance against the crime lords. Knotty City was known for being under the thumb of the mafia families, and a few of those seats were about to be claimed by the boys who left me hollow.
I was born an Omega, having no place in the higher ranks of our society. For a while, I believed that. I let myself be misled by the social constructs of our kind until I removed the rose-colored lenses from my eyes.
I might’ve been made for taking a knot, but I learned I also had the skill to tie one around someone’s throat. It was in my ruining that I built my own empire, and those boys had no idea I was doing it right under their noses.
