An attempted coup leaves Ionia as a participant in the Challenge. An archaic ritual designed to challenge those in line for the crown.

There, Ionia will have to face the other challengers who wish to take the throne for themselves. The Trials that are put forth are for once purpose, and one purpose only; to kill her, and ensure Adair never takes the throne. It’s a fight not only for Prince Adair’s right to rule, but for their very lives.

Danger is lurking around every corner, and the secrets and magic she faces are only getting stronger. An unknown danger is approaching, but will she be able to win this fight and figure out what’s coming before it’s too late?

Her enemies are determined to ensure she never again sees the light of day, but her loyalty, and her love, belong to the prince and his allies.
