Rescuing August was supposed to fix everything. Instead, it’s more complicated than ever.
After seven weeks apart, I finally have August back where he belongs, by my side. Only the man we rescued isn't the same man that proposed to me. In fact, he isn't a man at all. Ryson told me he turned August into a vampire, but I refused to believe it. With my lover next to me, I can't deny it.

There are things I can still deny though. Like Timber and Ryson and their claim on August and me. Ryson kept August under constant compulsion after he kidnapped him. Timber tried to distract me with empty promises. I’m over their manipulative tactics in the name of Fate, and August and I are staying far away from both of them.

A feat made easier with the help of my new label, Beyond the Veil. Thanks to them, I have August. And now we have a team, led by the appealing demon, Bune, hiding us away. The former Duke of Hell promises to protect us, and I believe him.

Everything would be perfect except August insists his feelings for Ryson are real and keeps encouraging me to give Timber a second chance.

I thought August and Ahzay were all I needed. Them and my music. What if I’m wrong? Did August’s disappearance stop me from seeing the mate Timber could be? Would it hurt to give into the desires I feel for Bune? Can I put my anger aside and let August love Ryson?

Author note

Wintah was supposed to be the exciting conclusion to a duet, but the characters have more work to do.
